Dear Reader,
Am going to talk about something today that
appears to me on a daily basis these days. I think
it's vital for everyone. So I'm sharing it with you.
It's about quit and join.
It's about doing what you love.
It's about life.
It's about you.
Are you doing something you really love? Is it
something that makes you wake up earlier than you wanted?
Is it something you dreamed of in the past? Or...
...are you doing something you have to do because it
brings in a certain amount of money? Is it
something because of other people's decision? Is it
something based on "away-from motivation"?
Do yourself a favor and ask yourself these questions.
Remember what Malcolm Forbes once said?
"The biggest mistake people make in life is NOT
making a living at doing what they most enjoy."
So true...
You know, I was a "Category 2" person not so long time back.
What I did drove me doing because of either money or other
people's decisions. What are other people's decisions, you
might ask?
You're unemployed and the government gives you a job offer.
Now you can either not consider it and therefore stop
getting the same amount of money from government, or you
can grab the opportunity, start working again, and continue
getting money.
Or you exchange your time with a fixed amount of money and
contribute it to a company as an employee. When you stop
working you usually stop receiving money.
In either case you're getting money based on other people's
decisions.
You are not free. You are dependent.
Well, if you are self-employed you might say now that you
are as well dependent on other people's decisions. Meaning,
if they are going to spend money or not, if they are
going to buy your product or not.
Though, you are working based on YOUR decisions. You are
getting up whenever YOU want. You go shopping whenever YOU
want, don't you?
If that one customer won't buy another one will.
I confess some self-employed people are arrested in their
self-employment "fortress." They're working hard every day,
14-18 hours, without joy. They work hard on getting a
certain amount of money, each and every month, accompanied
by fear of loss.
"Get outta here" I'm telling you if you're one of them.
You are supposed to live the life you most enjoy, Dear Reader.
You are on our planet to relish each moment.
I'm not saying that working 14-18 hours per day equals you
have no joy. Wrong!
I for one DO work 14-18 hours on most days. I DO sit in
front of my computer most of the time. But for me it's
actually not working. It is pure joy. (While living
in sunny Brazil, 2 minutes from the beach, you bet it is!)
I relish it entirely.
And I'm doing it because I want to.
This is what I want you to have as well -- joy at doing
what you do.
Ask yourself if you really enjoy what you're doing for a
living. Because if you do it will shine through to your
prospect or customer.
Bottom line? Become the "Category 1 person" if you're not
already.
When do you realize you are living after Category 1? You
will feel it in certain ways...
For instance, in Category 1 is no real pressure. If
something occurs that needs to be done quickly you just do it,
with happiness.
In Category 1, there is no fear of loss. If you loose a
customer or that job you immediately replace it with another
customer or job, in a blink of an eye. (In fact, you'll more
likely keep customers rather than loosing them.)
Become the Category 1 person if you're not already.
Once you are, or if you are, I'm quite happy. :-)
To your success,
Sonrisas,
Beth

P.S. Category 1 people do things that help others. They are
focused on "giving first." They are committed to contributing
something good to the world.
That sounds, feels and looks VERY good to me. :-) To you too?
